Having so many options is not always great, the degree of confusion increases with the increase in number of choices. Yet we came up with a four step process which will assist you in choosing the right option in the best possible way.
- Know Yourself: The very first step is to evaluate yourself, your personality, skills and interest. Who you are? What do you want? How will you get it? It is very important to learn about yourself before you choose any career option. You can use different methods to do so. Many personality tests are available for the same. Assessing yourself is one of the most crucial stage of the process.
- Make a list of alternatives: Once self assessment is done, the next step is to grab a pen and paper and write down all the alternatives available to you. Be organized and list them down properly into a master list. You might find some options which may appeal you but you do not have much knowledge about it, write those too, you might learn something new and interesting.
- Explore the alternatives: Now you have your master list with you! What next? GOOOO EXPLORE!! The more information you gather the better clarity you get. If possible talk to experts of related fields. This step, if followed correctly, will help you succeed in narrowing your master list and get a sight of want you really want.
- Make it happen: The whole process will just be another waste of time if not implemented. The last step is to get into action, opt for the courses you shortlisted. Stay determined-because this is what you really want.
Buckle up your shoes! The journey of life has just begun.
Always remember- being yourself in the world which is trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.
